StockSense Privacy Policy

StockSense is an inventory forecasting app for Shopify merchants. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights. This is a placeholder policy for development; it will be replaced with the final version before the app is published.

Data we access

When you install StockSense on your Shopify store, the app accesses:

• Products and variants — SKUs, titles, prices, and unit costs, used to build the inventory dashboard.
• Inventory levels — on-hand, available, committed, and incoming quantities per location, used to compute stockout dates and reorder suggestions.
• Orders — line items and order dates, used only to compute sales velocity. We do not read customer names, emails, addresses, or payment information.
• Locations — names and IDs, used to filter forecasts by location.

How we use the data

The data above is used solely to provide forecasting features: sales velocity, days-to-stockout, reorder points, suggested order quantities, and purchase-order summaries. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data storage

We store only the minimum needed to run the app: your store's forecasting settings (lead time, safety stock, target coverage, lookback window, selected location) and any CSV files you import. Shopify order and product data is fetched from the Shopify Admin API on demand and is not copied into our database.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall StockSense, or when Shopify sends a shop/redact request, we delete the store's settings and imported files. You can request a copy of your data at any time using the contact details below.
